- Cooker lights but has a very small flame -

All regulators have a safety valve that will not permit an initial burst of gas to pass through. When you first light your burner and it has a very small flame then the safety valve has been tripped.

To reset the valve follow these steps:

  1. Turn the propane tank off and close the valve on the gas line.
  2. Turn the tank back on to the full open position.
  3. Open the valve on the gas line just enough to light the burner.
  4. After the burner is lit, slowly continue to turn the valve on the gas line to increase the flame.
  5. If the flame becomes small again, stop and repeat steps 1 - 4
  6. If the problem persists call 1-800-864-6194 from 8-5 CST, Monday - Friday or 9-2 CST on Saturday.
