Items needed:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled (90-100)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups corn meal
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 Qt oil for frying

 

Directions:

  1. Peel, wash, and drain shrimp
  2. Pat shrimp with paper towels to dry
  3. Mix corn meal, salt, and cayenne pepper until blended
  4. Heat oil in pot to 360 F
  5. Place mustard and shrimp in a separate bowl and mix
  6. Dredge shrimp through the dry mixture until coated
  7. Shake off excess, place in hot oil and fry until golden brown.
