Boiled Peanuts
Prep time: 20 min.
Cook time: 1 hr.
Items needed:
2 quarts unshelled raw peanuts
3 quarts water
2 tablespoons coarse salt
2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a stockpot and bring to a boil
Boil gently for 45 minutes to an hour
Test a cooled peanut for desired consistency
After turning the flame off the longer the peanuts soak in the water the saltier they become
